Hate when I put my videos on the wrong blog!
Brian asked for a snake handling video. Here I give you two great things. Snake handling and... BILLY RAY CYRUS! This is a crazy long video, but it was the only one I could find with BRC in it.
Here are some crazy-a$$ pentecostals. If you wanna crap your pants skip ahead to the 1:30 mark and watch what the chick in the blue sweater does. Kind of reminds me of YL club with Rainman flopping all over the floor.

i cant believe i just watched that whole snake handling video. i think my IQ just dropped four points.
They're not dumb...they just have a different interpretation of the Bible. I think their interpretation is flawed and they are missing the real point of the passage, but you have to respect their devotion and faith. The passage:

14 Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.
15 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."
What I find interesting about this, and why I believe that the snake handlers are missing the point, is that Jesus is basically saying that you can do anything in my name....but I think he means for purposes of spreading the gospel. However, the snake handlers seem like a very closed culture, and I would guesss that this practice alienates seekers from their church, more than it welcomes people in. I don't believe that Jesus demands that we prove our faith by doing something that could get us killed, for the purpose of faith proving only. I believe that Jesus wants us to be willing to trust him in dangerous situations, but to spread his word (ie. Jim Elliot being killed while preaching the gospel to a dangerous tribe in South America). If the snake handlers were able to redirect that faith into reaching out to non-believers, think of the impact it would have.
Nick. A few points here.
1st no one is going to take anything you say seriously with that picture as your icon.
2nd that may be the most inciteful comment anyone has ever had to a Billy Ray Cyrus video.
1. I will continue to use Amy Crackhouse as my icon just to torture your brother.
2. You should hear my analysis on the Achy Breaky Heart music video.
note: my IQ dropped because of Billy Ray... got nothing against the snake handlin' folk...
